"Vimto" (smudgey)

I have never been able to hang onto the compact vehicles that I’ve owned for very long, but something about it just seems so appealing. Maybe it’s the one price format where you just pick a color and don’t have to worry about options or trim levels. I like the assortment of standard features it includes, like bluetooth, alloy wheels, keyless start, cruise control, blind spot warning, etc. for $16,495 including destination (6-speed manual model). Being Mazda-derived, I’m sure its a smooth shifting transmission and the chassis is well behaved.
I probably won’t buy one, because I love my Volvo and would be giving up half of its horsepower, its sunroof, and its Swedish charm for what is essentially an econobox, but that catfish face sure is somehow captivating.

Wait for the Mazda 2 so you don’t have to drive a heinously ugly car.

Isn’t the point of the iA existing that we /won’t/ get the 2 in the States due to the low sales of the previous gen model?

I’m actually sad that Toyota is doing this, degrading themselves and rebadging inferior cars. In particular, Mazda is known for their rust issues. They designed the Chevy Vega. The iA is good if you like the Toyota Cavalier (and not just for funny troll reasons). Will you be able to buy a Toyota emblem at the Mazda dealer now? :p

It’s going to Puerto Rico, though, so you could get one there and ferry it here

I really want to buy one, I’m sick of having a big car, so I’d love it.

The rust is the source, but I was just being funny, since the Vega and Mazda are both known for rust.
